Background & Expertise
FOUNDER, CEO
WARP & WEFT HISTORY
January 2018 - present
I started Warp & Weft History to provide quality interactive online history education for homeschooled teens. I create virtual learning environments for students focusing on U.S. History for both middle and high school level students, World History, and African American History. Additionally, I provide coaching for the National History Day competition. I provide support to my daughters who provide online Texas State History and US Government classes.
HOME EDUCATOR, PRE-K THROUGH 12
May 1993 - August 2018
I was the primary educator for preschool through 6th grade for our four children and temporarily for two nephews. I founded and facilitated a support group for African American and minority homeschool familes. I coordinated grief support services for my children after the passing of my firstborn daughter. In the middle grades, I primarily taught liberal arts subjects while coordinating with other homeschool parents through a co-op to outsource various math and science courses. In the high school grades, I served as a guidance counselor for my children's community college dual enrollment courses. My three surviving children successfully met the requirements of graduation from our homeschool and all matriculated at Baylor University where they graduated with honors and advanced degrees.
